What Starmetal Ore is used for in New World
Starmetal ore is used to make weapons and armor at the Workshop, Forge, Arcane Repository, and Outfitting Station.
First, the Starmetal Ore is used at the Smelter to create Starmetal Ingots (to make these, you also need steel ingots, made from iron ingots—so get ready to farm a lot of iron ore if you want to use Starmetal).

How To Find the Best Mining Areas
Once you’re in your favorite area, bring up the Map (press M by default) and take notice of the different colors on the map surface. For mining, we’re looking for the light brown areas of the map—so the bigger the patch of brown you see, the greater chance you’ll have of finding large amounts of mining nodes.
For high-level ores like Starmetal, you won’t see it very often in all brown areas of the map, so it’s best to know the exact places to be before you go out for a mining session.

You can easily make a circular tour of all these areas, and keeping going round as long as you wish, since the nodes will have respawned by the time you get back to them—assuming no one else is doing the same as you.

Mourningdale
If Brightwood is busy on your server, consider an alternative route around Mourningdale Village. This is a quick and easy route to circle around and grab a ton of Starmetal ore—and the city is right next to you to easily store it or start crafting with it.
BEST FOR QUICK FARMING
Restless Shore
If you just want a quick and easy route to get a bag full of Starmetal Ore, these spots around the fast travel shrine in Restless Shore are easy to get to, without many enemies to bother you, plus there’s the fast travel nearby when you’re ready to head back to town.
