What Orichalcum Ore is used for in New World
Orichalcum is the last-level ore that can currently be mined in New World. It’s used to make the top level ingots, which are used to create weapons, gear, and tools.
Most recipes require the Orichalcum to first be smelted into an ingot, which to do so, will require a lot of the previous-tier ores to be able to make a decent amount of Orichalcum metal. So, be prepared to have a decent inventory of Iron and Starmetal ready.
How To Find the Best Mining Areas
Once you’re in your favorite area, bring up the Map (press M by default) and take notice of the different colors on the map surface. For mining, we’re looking for the light brown areas of the map—so the bigger the patch of brown you see, the greater chance you’ll have of finding large amounts of mining nodes.
For high-level ores like Orichalcum, there are really not very many nodes in the low-level areas worth visiting if you want to really farm it. You’ll need to be higher level, and ready to venture into slightly more dangerous areas to get this top-tier metal.

BEST OVERALL
Ebonscale Reach
There’s a fantastic island to the South-West of Ebonscale reach. It’s the perfect place to collect Orichalcum since there’s a ton of nodes around there. While you wait for those nodes to respawn, you can also visit the smaller areas to the north.
BEST ALTERNATIVE
Reekwater
If the island at Ebonscale Reach is too busy on your server, then head to Reekwater for some quick nodes. This is a great place to afk farm while you watch TV or do some work. The nodes will respawn every 15 minutes or so.
BEST FOR HIGH LEVEL
Shattered Mountain
Not exactly an area for the feint-hearted. But if you’re level 60 and want to gather as much Orichalcum as humanly possible, then check out these parts of Shattered Mountain.
