Very easy to spot, they glow bright blue and can be harvested once you hit level 100 in the Harvesting skill
What Silkweed is used for
When a player harvests a Silkweed plant in New World, they collect an item called Silk Threads. These Silk Threads are then taken to the Loom in town to create Silk.
Silk is then used to create all kinds of armor. Bear in mind that in order to create Silk, you first need to create Linen, using Hemp, and then Sateen (which is used with Linen and Cloth Weave). So in addition to lots of Silkweed, armor crafters will also need a lot of Hemp to make Silk in the first place.
Best Places to Find Silkweed
BEST OVERALL
Mourningdale
The vast plains area South of Mourningdale town is full of Silkweed. It’s a great place to farm both Silkweed and Hemp at the same time. And you’ll only need to contend with a few cat mobs every now and again.
BEST ALTERNATIVE
Brightwood
If Mourningdale is too busy or far away, then the next best place is down the Eastern side of Brightwood. Plenty of Silkweed to be found there, plus the enemy mobs are lower level and cause less of a threat.
BEST FOR A QUICK FARM
Weaver’s Fen
If all you’re looking for is a fast little farm of Silkweed, then use the quick travel shrine in Southern Weaver’s Fen, and scoop up all the Silkweed that’s right next to it. Easy.
